ENNIO MORRICONE

There is already enough said about Ennio Morricone that it would be redundant to comment on his greatness.

All I can say is that it feels strange like he would of lived forever.

I thought I would share some clips below.

RIP Maestro, Mr. Ennio Morricone.

EDITING DIRT CITY PT. 1

DISCOVERY

I don’t need to remind of what’s happening in the world today, so I thought I would share what it has been like editing Dirt City.

I can talk about the other types of films or works I’ve edited but that will be another time… another place.

This is the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to edit.

When I first got to organizing the footage, what I pictured in my head seemed so different that what was in front of me. I don’t know if the conditions of that filming day changed it for me or my own self doubt. So I decided that the best thing I could do is put together the footage as best as I could.

It took me a few days but I had my first edit, it made feel so sick I didn’t look at it again for another week.

I didn’t understand why I felt this way.

I had made short films before and never felt this before.

There was nothing “wrong” with the film… it just seemed like a huge mountain that seemed impossible.

Making time in between my other jobs, I thought I could tackle it piece by piece when I had time.

I started editing each scene as basic as I could, not getting too hung up on anything… I could come around and smooth it out later. I left the audio as rough as I could and the visuals uneven, I just needed a flicker of a story.

I needed it to be worth it.

This was probably the best thing I could of done because I was able to see the full film, even if it was just a smile my actor made. I could finally see a peek into what this film was.

I had made it up the first hill.
